Overview: The IEEE Computer Society Student Branch at Balqa Applied University - Faculty of Technology and Engineering (BAU - FET) introduces a practical cybersecurity project: a real-time motion detection system using Python and OpenCV. This tool captures motion via webcam, triggers an audible alarm, and automatically sends email notifications with timestamped images of the detected activity, enabling quick remote monitoring.
Objectives:
- Implement a robust motion detection algorithm with OpenCV to identify changes in video frames, capture snapshots, and integrate audio alarms for immediate on-site response.
- Develop an automated email notification system using SMTP to deliver motion images securely, reliable alerts for remote users while emphasizing data privacy and system efficiency.
